An Article Published With the German Exlibris Society’s Weblog
Recently, on May 1st, my first German article about Norwegian Exlibris was published in the series “Exlibris des Monats” (Exlibris of the Month) on the website of the German Exlibris Society, D.E.G. e.V. The text is my response to a call for articles sent to the members of the world’s oldest, still-standing exlibris society, and I thought: why not write about Norwegian exlibris for an audience that is enthusiastic about exlibris but perhaps doesn’t know much about Norwegian ones?
I chose a draft for an exlibris by the well-known artist Normand Laheld (1898–1965), which I had recently won at an auction. The exlibris is for Svanhild Paust, a woman from Sandfjord, the hometown of the artist Laheld. It depicts her initials, SP, as swans on the open sea before a dark blue background.

More?
I’m still working on finishing the artist portrait of Normand Laheld, which I hope to publish on this here blog in June. If you read German, enjoy the short article about Laheld’s exlibris for Svanhild Paust, which has some biographical info on the artist.
